Successful 'Green' Campaigns
St Patrick’s day takes place on the 17th March and this year in it falls on a Thursday.
Annually, a parade takes place in Limerick, outside Dublin, where they see 70,000 participants. With covid restrictions relaxing, it will be a great opportunity to celebrate whether you’re Irish or not. Brands of course flock at events such as these and present their brands in green fashion to match the shamrock and usually use the opportunity to have a joke or a tipple!
Some example campaigns:
Guiness campaign 2017 was all about getting together - “Let’s get together”. Of course, it was a success and many people got to receive free Guiness and a lot of press reported about this in 2017. Good and bad reports of drunken groups of people enjoying life! The image itself though is just a piece of art. The artistry behind the crowd surrounding the pint of Guiness is beautifully drawn and illustrated.
2022 will continue to be a good year for Guiness and already they have released their Youtube video which can be see here. It is happy, nostalgic and relates to the past 2+ years of hardship that people have endured either isolating or losing someone close without saying any of those things. A time to celebrate and have a fun and forget about everything. All together.
New Balance went all green in thanking their loyal customers. Maybe not as creative as some other campaigns but showing some gratitude towards their customers is always a nice touch for big global brands.
In keeping with the green, a campaign with New Balance & Salehe Bembury x Jesse William for NB’s new 2002R “Water Be the Guide”. This collab was the second time Bembury and Williams have worked together and since he’s now left Grey’s, maybe we will see more of Williams in campaigns soon. And check out this image from the campaign, it’s so quirky and different, it just stands out like a green thumb!
